The Alabama attorney general announced Tuesday that the police officer involved in the shooting death of Emantic Bradford Jr. in a mall on Thanksgiving night won’t be charged for the murder.

The news sparkled outrage in the slain victim’s family who believes the officer shot their son because he concluded the young black man must be the suspect.

AG. Steve Marchall said that “the officer did not commit a crime ” since he mistakenly considered the victim was the shooter when he saw him with a gun running toward an injured victim, who was later identified as a friend of his.

“A reasonable person could have assumed that the only person with a gun who was running toward the victim of a shooting that occurred just three seconds earlier fired the shot.
