Former Bishop of Charleston sanctioned by Pope for sexual harassment.


Former Bishop of wheeling, Charleston, west Virginia Bishop emeritus Micheal Joseph Bransfield has been sanctioned by his Holiness Pope Francis. The former Bishop was accused of sexually harassing adults.

The Pope banned the former Bishop from participating in liturgy, the bishop also based on the sanctions has been forced out of the diocese. The former Bishop has been asked to make amends for the crimes he has been accused of.

The sanctions was announced after the conclusion of an investigation led by the archbishop of Baltimore that found the allegations against Bransfield to be credible

The most Reverend Bishop Micheal Joseph Bransfield was born on Sept 8, 1943, he was ordained into priesthood by by John krol.

In December 9, 2004 he was appointed and installed on February 22, 2005.

The vatican has announced that he will be suceded by by Bishop Mark Brennan.
