A French military base in Gao, Mali has been hit by a car bomb, according to sources from the peace keeping camp in Mali.
The camp is said to consist of at least 4,000 French troops and a UN troops around 11,000 stationed in Gao for a peace keeping operation.
Jihadist had over run a part of the country so the UN and french government deployed troops in a combined effort to help flush out the terrorist group. the car bomb happened at the entrance to the French part of camp according to statements by Colonel Frederic while addressing news men on the matter.
Casualties is said to be very minimal but at least 4 soldiers are said to have been affected by the explosion.
