South Africa Envoys meet in Presidential Villa, Aso Rock with Buhari over Xenophobia
South Africa special envoys had a closed meeting with Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday at the Presidential Villa Aso Rock.
The purpose of the meeting is about the Xenophobia attack increasing in South Africa against the Nigerians and other Africans living in their country.
At exactly 2:13pm on Monday September 16 , the envoys arrived the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, in company with Mr Bobby Monroe Acting South Africa High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Last week Wednesday, the first batch returned from South Africa are about 189 Nigerians apart from many Nigerians losing their lifes and properties due to the Attack.
The Xenophobia attacks on Africans has caused some many property damages and loss of many lifes.
The South Africa President, Cypril Ramaphosa had sent some delegate envoys to some Africa countries such as Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal, Republic of Congo, and Zambia to deliver messages of Pan African unity on the violence that erupted in some parts of South Africa resulting in attacks on foreign Nations.
At the meeting, they will also brief President Buhari on the steps that the South Africa government is taken to stop these ruthless attacks of Xenophobia on Africans
The Xenophobia attacks rise due to the unemployment of the citizens and accused the foreigners for take what belong to them both homes and properties.
President Buhari fortnight ago had also sent a special envoy to South Africa President Cypril Ramaphosa which was led by the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Abubakar Rufia.
The meeting was still in progress at the time even though Abubakar Rufia summited his report to President Buhari on his return to Nigeria.
