The killing occurred a day after U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a quick visit to Afghanistan capital of Kabul where he said Washington was hopeful of a peace deal before September 1.

The U.S military said their two service members were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday but no any details released for the cause of their death.

The service personnel have died in Afghanistan since the U.S led coalition invaded in October 2001 to oust the Taliban and hunt down Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden following the Sept 11 2001, attacks on the U.S, not clear if the death were the result of warfare.

The Taliban have refused to hold direct talk with the Afghan government calling them U.S puppets, but said they would talk with members of the government if they arrive at the meeting as ordinary Afghans.

U.S peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad has held a series of meetings in Kabul in an effort to rescheduled an Afghan to Afghan round of talks, which was schedule and scattered earlier this year because neither side agree on participants.

Khalilzad who begin a fresh direct talk with the Taliban in the middle Eastern state of Qatar, where the religious movement maintain a political office, Effort to find peaceful end to Afghanistan’s protracted war.

Pompoe underscored Khalilzad’s strategy in the talks, which involves four interconnected issues ( counterterrorism, foreign troop presence, inter-Afghan dialogue, and permanent cease fire), before leaving Afghanistan to India on Tuesday.

The U.S military announced that the identities of the soldiers would not be released yet until their families had knew about their death.
